William Pendleton's Father: John Wesley Lanphear 1814-1882
born in Plattsburg,N.Y., Disciples of Christ Minister
married Mary Campbell of Lisbon,Oh in 1838
lived in Warren area and Brunswick area. Lanphears are
buried in cemetaries in both Warren & Brunswick.
Hiram College, Lauren's alma mater, in Hiram, Oh has
records of John Wesley, as it is a Disciples college.
family name Pendleton comes from a founder of Hiram College,
also a supporter/benefactor of John Wesley.

fled from New England (Conn?) during War of 1812.
wife's family lands, near border with Canada were
returned to Crown. Settled just into Canada near
Lake Champlain, moved to Plattsburgh after war.
moved to Brunswick, Oh 1831.
children: several daughters, no mention of their children.
John Wesley seems to be only son??
Stephen was also a minister, but not in a specific denomination.
family moved frequently because of Stephen's theological
conflicts( they got run out of town!)
Stephen Lanphear's Father: Luke Lanphear
known to be in New England area during Revolutionary War.
haven't found evidence of being a soldier in war.
Jeffery Lanphear(grandson of W.P. Lanphear II) claims to
have found record of an arrest for keg tapping.
no record of birth, death, marriage.
may have been immigrant, from England? possibly France.
rummored to have come to Rhode Island.
None is the above is confirmed, except name.
