In the Name of God Amen
I Norman Lamphier of the county of Clayton, Sperry Township, State of Iowa
being of sound mind and memory and considering the under delcair this to be
my last Will and Testament that is to say first after all my lawful debts are
paid and discharged the residue of my Estate, real and personal I give
bequeath and dispose of as follows To wit to my wife Hettie Lamphier all my
property both real and personal to use and dispose of at her death as she
chooses to do with the exception I give to each of my children the sum of
five dollars, namely Lucy Beaty, Lois White, Nancy Scovell, Olive Caudle,
Caroline Thomas,Charles H. Lamphier, William J. Lamphier, Myron Lamphier,
John F. Lamphier and Ambrose B. Lamphier. To my grandson Norman White a mare
and colt known as his and a yearling Hifer. My son John F. is to have the
acre of land that his house and building are on by his paying the Estate the
sum of thirty dollars. My son Ambrose B. is to have the mare known as Kit if
he uses his own money to pay the debts that are now against the Estate.
Likewise I apponit my son Ambrose B. Lamphier Executor of this my last Will
and Testament hereby revoking all former wils by me made. Witness this my
hand and seal this 1st day of December 1874.
The forgoing written instrument was subscribed by the said Norman Lamphier in
our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the same time
published and declared the above instrument so subscribed to be his last will
and testament and we at the testators request and in his presence have signed
our names as witnesses here to and written opposite our names our respective
places of residence

I, J. F. Thompson clerk of the circuit court in and for said county do here
by certify that on this day at the November term A.D. 1881, of said court,
the Will and instrument in writing hereinto annixed and bearing date on the
1st day of December 1874 was duly approved before and allowed by said court
as and for the last will and testament of the real and personal Estate of
Norman Lamphier late of said county, deceased and was by said court ordered
to be recorded as such Will and Testament.
In witness where of I have hereinto set my hand and affixed the seal of said
court at my office in Elkader in said county this 15th day of November A.D.
