Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

I am still trying to attach a set of parents to my Lyndon. He was born in
1816 in Vermont according to Census records. The first I pick him up is in
Ira, Cayuga County, NY in 1850, married with 3 children. He then moved to
Dane Co WI, where there was also an Elizabeth Lanphear living with a Bentley
family. ( daughter?) He moved to Adams Co, WI ca 1853-55 where there was
also a Silas A. Lanphear with a wife named Patience, also an Elisha, and
Alonzo. Several parents have been suggested but noone has any definitive
proof. He died in 1875. As far as I know he has no military record. He
married a Charolette Garthwait, daughter of Daniel Garthwait and Ester
Jeffers. Any help that anyone can be would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you, Terry Lanphear Reisinger TerryTxRn(a)aol.com
Just to let you know how the donations to ROOTSWEB were coming.
I have received a donation or a note telling me that someone had sent a
donation directly to ROOTSWEB from 12 people for a total of $129!
I have received many nice letters (only one disagreement letter) from
subscribers thanking me for keeping the lists going, but the real thanks
goes to Karen & Brian for making it possible for the lists to continue! I
could not have kept EIGHT lists going much longer from my computer!
AGAIN, a donation is NOT a requirement for being on this list or any other.
As I understand it now, several other listowners are also asking for
donations. If you have given something in the name of another list, that
is GREAT! I do not expect you to donate to EVERY list that you belong to.
I am trying to write everyone as I receive a donation from them, to let
them know that I did receive their letter, but a few people did not include
their e-mail address.
Again, the addresses for donations are:

Thank you for joining the Lanphear / Lamfier / etc. list. We hope you will share your problems and findings regarding this family. You need only to join one spelling of the surname as messages are sent to all four I handle.
