I am almost 67 years old and throughout my life I heard my father and his first cousin
speak about their grandfather ( Beckton or Becton) who married, as they used to say,
"a full bloodied Indian Princess". We believe it was a "Langford"
woman that he married and was referring to. I never lived near family and was not
particularly interested until I started doing Ancestry work. Now my father, and his cousin
are deceased. I have heard other stories about the Native American coonection to the
Langfords. I think they were Cherokee, but it could have also been Creek. They lived in
northern Alabama and northern Florida. Probably they would have lived there in about 1850
to 1890. Do you have any leads on that?
