I hope someone can help me. My mother has been looking for her great-great
grandfather's parents for over 30 years. I am hoping someone can shed some
light on this family. I would love to be able to give my mother her g-g-g
grandparent's name for mother's day.
I am looking for a Stephen Lang(k)ford, born in 1806 in GA.married to a
Julia or Juliah.
I have found a Stephen Lankford in 1830 living in Campbell County, GA listed
a 1 male 20-30 and 1 female 15-20.
In 1840 there is a Stephen Lanford living in Cass County, GA, District 951.
1 male under 5
1 male 30 - 40
1 female under 5
2 females 5-10
1 female 20-30
Does anyone know anything about this family? Where were they in 1850? The
ages fit with the Stephen Lankford that I am searching for.
He had 4 daughters Frances, Parthenia, Sarah, Elizabeth born in Georgia in
1832, 1841, 1843, 1846. Possibly there were other children since their is a
great age difference.
I know that he was in Lafayette County, MS in August of 1851. Frances
Lankford (Sankford) married a David Samuel Warner there (these are my great
great grandparents). There was also a Mary Sankford married in August 1851
to a James R. Cain , this might be another daughter.
He then had 2 sons,John and James born in 1853 and 1854 in Mississippi.
Then a daughter, Nancy Matilda born in Arkansas in 1856.
In 1860 we can locate the family in Jackson County, ARK.In 1870 Julia and 1
daughter, a son-in-law and 3 granddaughters are listed in Augusta, Woodruff
County, AR. Stephen is buried in Woodruff County.
I would appreciate any help on this line.
