I have a copy of a Confederate Pension Application dated July 18, 1899 and approved September 28, 1899 regarding BELL LANKFORD, widow of WILLIAM LANKFORD, of Telephone, Fannin County, Texas. The application states that they were married January 1, 1857 and that William died November 8, 1888. It also states that Bell was 64 at the time of making the application. I have not been able to make a connection to Bell or her husband as part of my line of Lankfords. If anyone has these folks in their line and would like to have this application, I will gladly send it to you.
The line I am researching begins with my grandfather, EDWARD CLARK LANKFORD, born in Sunbright, Morgan County, TN. He married LONA GARNER, who was born March 19, 1891 in Grayson County, Texas. I have not been able to go any farther back on either one of these grandparents, except that Lona's father was JOHN D. GARNER and her mother was FRANCES BURN/BURNES/BYRNE/BYRNES. My grandparents had four sons in Fannin County, Texas, one of them being my father, CARL ANDREW LANKFORD, born February 17, 1915 in Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas. The family later moved to Graham, Young County, Texas.
If anyone has any information on this line it would be greatly appreciated.
Carolyn Storie, nee Lankford
