Hello, my name is Christina. my ancestors we slaves on the lanier plantation in Jasper, TX which is now the Jasper County Courthouse. I am trying to locate information for my great great great grandmother named jane/Janie Lanier... I have been on a mission to verify information as I have been on a genealogy search since I was a kid.... I am told that me great great grandmother Angeline ( named after the local river) was born to Jane/Janie Lanier ... I am told that Jane was child of the plantation and one of the many reasons why she was buried at the "white family cemetery," which is called the Lanier Plantation in downtown Jasper, tx... I know from my findings that the owner came from Florida and was of mostly French descendent...what I really want to find out is if there are any records of the slave holdings for the Lanier Plantation... I was told by my great grand and grandmother that once slavery ending most of those things were shipped back to florida
