I am from the LA Lanier line. I don't know where Jane Elizabeth settled but my records show that she was born July 10, 1843 and died August 9, 1918.

I would love to talk to any male descendant of Hardy Mills Lanier, b. 1841, son of James Lanier and Sarah Hogans. Hardy Mills Lanier married Elizabeth Turner and had several children. My husband is descended from their son James Stanley Lanier.
Later Hardy Mills Lanier disappeared, drowned, died , or remarried (without the benefit of having divorced Elizabeth) depending on who is telling the story. There is probably an additional line from Hardy after he left Elizabeth. A number of us think that this is true, but we haven't been able to document it.
So--I am looking for male descendants with the Lanier surname who are descended from Hardy and his second wife AND who have their own DNA results. Comparing DNA from the two lines would be very enlightening.
If anyone has 'traditional' primary documentation on Hardy's second marriage, I'd be interested in talking, too.
