Carnforth grew in size and prominence in the latter half of the 19th century after
the railway came to town! Prior to that it was part of the parish of Warton. This
is one of my main parishes of interest. The name BLAND appear in the Warton records
the earliest being in 1624. It also appears in the neighbouring parish of Bolton le
