Sorry I did not see this post for a while! The one in the infirmary is 1860 and the one
buried at St Patricks is 1850.
I have gone on to investigate all of the 1851 census returns that include a James Rogers,
born in Ireland, married but not in a household with his own family. This has led to
really only one possibility - in Heworth, Durham. I am looking into this one.
Unfortunately there remains the possibility that he was in Manchester, but is on one of
the returns too badly damaged to be read.
