If its any use, I see the name John Faulkner as an Inn keeper in the 1851
census at 8 Long Millgate with a wife and six children. Six houses away at
#22 lived a John Bowker a brush maker. (I don't have this census) this
information was taken from a book named Volume 1: Medieval Manchester, by
believe it or not, a Michael Morris.
Long Millgate is at the north end of Deansgate by the cathedral. Its about
15 minutes walk to the Kendle Milne store.
In 1776 at #7 Hanging Ditch (Same area) lived a James Taylor a Woollen
Draper Check Manufacturer.
