Coming back to the Howarth family-
James and Martha Barber Howarth were married in 1860 at Ashton Under Lyne.
Fanny was born in 1863, listed as Ashton Under Lyne
So... I am assuming that Mary Hannah "Mollie" was also in 1866. I know
her birth wasn't registered, but I really think that she was probably
Christened/baptize, espeially as they were to sail to the US in just a
couple of days.
The Lancashire OPC says that there are no church records for 1863-1866
so is there any way to find those records?
Another question. It's about 50 miles from Ashton Under Lyne to
Liverpool ??? Would this mother and her two wee children have traveled
by coach, train or would some of her family have driven them to the
boat. Her husband James was already in the US.
Be sure mail to the list is in PLAIN TEXT.
