I don't have much information to add to my last posting unfortunately. I can't tie
John with any degree of certainty to your William Eccleston although I wish I could and I
suspect there is a connection.
Here are the census entries for "my" John Eccleston:
1841 John age 40 stonemason living in Standish born Lancshire with wife Mary 30, John 10,
Mary 5, Margaret 3, Thomas 1. (But there was rounding).
1851 John 1801, stonemason born Standish, Mary 1816, John 1833, Margaret 1839, Thomas
1841, James, 1845
I have no record for his marriage to Mary nor baptisms for his children by this marriage.
There might be a clue in the occupations. In 1841, the stonemasons/stonegetters in
John (40), Edward (35) and William Eccleston (25) and 7 other individuals with various
Edward lives next door to his parents, William and Elizabeth, and William lives with these
same parents. I don't know whether this ties John, Edward and William together as
brothers/cousins or not.
