There is an Alexander Pope Street, which is situated between Marybone and
Byrom Street/Scotland Road.
St Albans C of E, St Mary`s RC, Highfield Street or possibly Holy Cross RC
might help you.
These were all churches in that area.
Never heard of Sawney Pope Street, but that isn`t to say it didn`t exist.
All of the above just North of the City Centre.
Out of interest A.P.Street was near to Fontenoy Gardens which like Gerard
Gardens, Caryl Gardens etc were in fact old tenements, without a garden in

I have an old 1910 map of Liverpool and I could only ever find an
Alexander Pope Street. I looked really hard on this as my grandfathers
birth certificate says he was born at Sawney Pope Road. Perhaps some
Liverpool soul can straighten us all out. I for one would like to know,
Alexander or Sawney.
