The Coroner's system has existed from the 12th Century. At the time of your
death, it would be by inquest, and the verdict would be brought in by a
Jury. Records for Lancashire are generally held in Lancashire Record Office
at Preston. However Wigan has some for 1804 to 1811.
There are also records in the PRO Inquisitions 1626 to 1832 for Palatinate
of Lancashire Ref. PL 26/285-295
I have to confess to not knowing where Senely Green is.

I found a burial in the Lancashire Parish Transcripts.
William son of John and Isabella LITTLER of Senely Green buried 16 July
1811 aged 26 years cause of death was given as Manslaughter.
Can anyone tell me what, if any information would be available on this
John LITTLER married Isabella BIRCHALL 29 Jan 1765.
