Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello Holly and all: I have known of Lamberton's being in Canada. In fact I corresponded
with a woman (now deceased) who was part of that Lamberton line. I have a bit of her
genealogy, but it starts back further than the ones you listed. If you can go back
another generation let me know and I will dig out my "other" Lamberton file and see what
I can come up with. You'll find my Lambertons on my web page.

His brother was William. We're from Windsor, Ontario Canada. My
grandfather, Douglas Edward's mother and father were from the Isle of Man
(between Eng., Irl. & Scot.)

Hello List Members,
I'm writing to you tonight because I feel that I need to step in and Say
Please stick to GENEALOGY!!!!!
With every message you send to "Rootsweb.com" (this list) you add to the
Archives a "Rootsweb.com" So Please Genealogy Only...
Yes we all believe in a greater power (call him/her as you wish).
And Yes we have Family Membersthat are active Pastors and Priests ..
I have been busy traveling this summer to see Doctors some 200 miles from my
home most of the summer and have just returned home from the latest trip.
And they say I have No Cancer at this time :-))
I will be home now for the winter as my next visit to Spokane is in March
I get over 500 E-mails a day and many of them are from persons that are
replying to relpies with short little lines like "right on" or "yes I do
too" or "I think that......" and each one is added to the one before it, by
the time it go through 5 or 6 persons you have a message that is 5 pages
long saying "nothing"
Please when responding to a Querie remove the "foot and tag lines that are
on the old message. (Use Your Delete Key)
Then try to keep your reply short and to the point .. But please have all
the data posable..
ie: Givin Name: Middle Name: Surname: dob & place, dod & place md to & date
& place.. Cemetery they are at.. include Town, County, State/Prov. Country..
Child & parents if known..
If you to have a running exchange of messages please send them to that
person only. with a note to the list after that is a digest of that
Genealogical DataThat maybe of use to the list members.
Please feel free to Post to this and all my lists any thing dealing with
I get a lot of "SPAM" also that you never see (or I hope you never see)
Rootsweb has a great atni-Spam tool they use. But they always send a copy to
me just incase it is not Spam..
I am Sorry to report that there may have been some "spam" that has reached
you from one or more lists the last few weeks. It seems that some one one
the list(s) is sending this 'spam' to us..
Please do not make me work harder then I like to by haveing me read allthe
posts and then say no this one will not go to the list. I feel that we
should be able to exchange Ideas freely.
But lets do it on Genealogy and not "porn" and other "nasty things" that eat
up the servers time and Hard Drive space...
If I find the ones doing the "Spaming" I will porecute under Washington
Laws. that can cost the spammer up to $50,000.00 for each member on the list
that receives the Spam. and Rootsweb does the same under Califonia laws.
I'll also remove that person from the list(s).
Thanks and Happy Hunting for Family History and Genealogy
Thanks & have a nice day,
Howard E. DeFord

Welcome to the LAMBERTON mailing list!!
PLEASE SAVE THIS INFORMATION so you have it for future reference.
PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE of your fellow list members. Some folks are beginners at computers and some to genealogy. The world is a better place when we are all patient with each other. Personal attacks, criticism, or flaming are never permitted.
HOW DO YOU POST? Send an email to email@example.com
WHAT SHOULD YOU POST?
1. Questions about your ancestors. Give as much detail as you can.
2. Interesting history that is relevant to the list.
3. Genealogy and family history conferences, even if they charge for admission.
4. Genealogy societies should feel free to post about their society and their websites.
5. Book reviews of genealogy books are reasonable to post. A list of books is not, but sharing a good genealogy book you've found is a good idea.
6. Links to personal blogs that are about genealogy. They can be your blog or another. Even if the blog has ads, that is not a problem.
7. New collections on various genealogy sites that are relevant. We don't want advertisements, but if you find an interesting collection on Ancestry, FamilySearch, Library of Congress, or some other site that has relevance to the list, let people know.
WHAT SHOULD BE IN YOUR POST?
1. An informative but concise subject line.
2. When replying to a previous message, be sure to check that the intended recipient's address is showing in the Send To box of your email BEFORE clicking on SEND.
3. Proofread and be sure you want your post public. All posts go in the archives!
WANT TO UNSUBSCRIBE?
Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and put unsubscribe in the subject and body and nothing else.
