Please can anyone help me solve a mystery? When did my great great grandad Lavender Lakey disappear?
My gg grandad was called Lavender Lakey he was born in 1844 in the Welney area of Cambs UK. Lavender married Eliza Bullas in St. Phillips, Sheffield in 1872 (this was her 2nd marriage her maiden name was Robinson). They moved around a lot as most of his children are born in different places. In the 1881 census the family are living in Cambs but by 1891 Lavender and Eliza have disappeared and their children are living all over the place with various people. I do have Eliza's death certificate from 1886 and Lavender is the informant on that. This is the last information I have for Lavender, until 1898 when my great grandad Harry Lakey married Harriet Haynes, Harry has his father down as deceased on his wedding certificate. Harry was over the age of 21 so there was no need to lie about the whereabouts of his father.
I am unable to find a death certificate for him or anything that suggests what happened to him. Can anyone help?
