I am beginning to try to trace my fathers family. My father's name was
Curtis LaGrone born in Hallsville, Texas April 22, 1912. He is of African
American decent. He left home at an early age and eventually joined the
U. S. Army and fought in WWII as well as the Korean War. He died at the
age of 86. Curtis
had 6 children. One from a marriage to a woman in Chicago (I believe). 5
others from the marriage to a German woman, whom he met while in the
military, stationed in Germany. I am one of the 5. My father often
talked of Tyler and Hallsville Texas. I never meet any of my relatives
since my father retired from the Army and settled in New Jersey. He
returned to Texas only once that I can recall. If you can help me in any
way I would appreciate it, very much.
