I would like to open a discussion about moving the Official USGenWeb Project
mailing lists to our own server. Rootsweb has been very good to extend the
mailing lists privileges to us all these years but for the past year or so
they have been repeated slow-downs and stoppages of the mailing lists on
Rootsweb. When they do restart, we have all been subject to occasions of
missed mail, mail received out of order and sometimes out of context, and
the list goes on. If we move the National lists to our own server, we would
do away with this problem because we would have only a handful of lists to
keep operational whereas Rootsweb has hundreds. This move would ONLY
involve USGenWeb Lists.
I see this as a win-win situation and look forward to comments and
discussion.
