I think this is a good idea. I would appreciate any new ideas plus any
links that would be helpful to my Sabine Parish researchers. I haven't done
much research in LA, but need to for my Furlow, Mayfield, McFaddens. <grin>

Subject: [LAGENWEB] LAGenWeb Parish websites
Since I MAY have some extra spare time over the rest of this week, I
am
going to be visiting all the LAGenWeb sites if possible during that time.
I
promise I will not be firing anyone except myself, but I will be
looking
for
things that I believe will make the sites better.
So when, if, you receive a message from me pointing out improvements I
think
you need to make to your sites to make them better, believe me, I
will be
checking my sites against yours and making the same suggestions to myself.
I am definitely not running sites that are any better than anyone else in
this project. Mine are worse than a number of yours.
So, I am taking this time of the year to review my own sites as I review
all
of yours and apply some of what I learn from each to the others. I
will
probably look for unique items in your sites and share what I find with
all
of us here in the mail list as well.
I promise not to bombard you all with criticisms, or make you feel bad, it
is just that we probably all need to freshen up our sites and raise them
to
a little higher level.
By the way, overall, things go very smoothly here at LAGenWeb. I get very
few complaints about any of the sites. I am not "after" anyone, and I
doubt
that anyone is doing a worse job of keeping their sites up to date
than
me,
so I hope that everyone can take my visits in the spirit in which I
am,
that
is to take this new year as an opportunity to improve the entire look
and
value of the project.
If anyone wants to help by letting us know about neat ideas you are
applying
to the project, let us all know here in the mail list.
Thanks to everyone for another year of contributions to the LAGenWeb
Project! and a Happy New Year to you all from me.
