All,
Edward Hayden is the new LAGenWeb state coord...welcome him to his new
position [g]. I know he'll be great at it, too..
I also want to take this opportunity to say how much I've enjoyed the past 2
1/2 years as your LAGenWeb state coord. I will miss it, and you...but as I
said in an earlier email, I just felt the time was right.
I am proud to have worked with each one of you...in the Archives too. I'm
also proud of the condition in which Annette and I are leaving LAGenWeb.
When Diane Miller resigned, and I became state coord...LAGenWeb was left in
a sad state of mediocrity. We didn't have a state logo, we shared a mailing
list with 2 other states, our Archives Project was not even acknowledged at
all by LAGenWeb; and Jan had to use her email program as a make-shift
Archives mailing list.
Now we're 3 lists strong, have a state logo, and truly represent our very
beloved Louisiana.
I'm grateful to Rootsweb too for making the space for our 3 lists, but the
SC has to request them. I did, we got 'em. I can't help but be proud of
that...especially LADATA-L.
I'm also proud of you CCs too...and our fine Archive team. I've learned so
much from many of you, made lifelong friends with several of you, been sued
by a mad ex-archivist, fired people by email...you name it. I even
accidentally insulted everyone in my first week as SC...and learned how to
apologize to a whole group at a time..ha ha. [Thankfully, all of you don't
remember that]
Anyway...this is my last post, but my email will still be open to anyone who
knocks [g]
Goodbye, God bless, take care, and best of luck to everyone..
b
