Hello everyone,
I finally was able to update the link to the new Colonial Louisiana website.
My thanks to Ann who has taken it upon herself to revive the site. I am very
happy to see that she has taken up this project. I have some ancestors who
were in the area long before statehood as well.
Please visit her new site and see how you can take advantage of the
information she has as well as what you may have that you want her to
promote for your Parishes.
For at least two weeks I have been unable to access the main LAGenWeb site
and suddenly this afternoon when I was about to write and find out what the
problem was, it started working. So I will be making changes and updates to
the site over the weekend.
I will search my e-mails to see what needs to be fixed that has been
overlooked, but if you know of something that needs to be updated or
corrected, please let me know right away and I will get it fixed.
I am about to setup a new interface again, I think I have learned enough
about website security to better protect the site this time. Hopefully the
onslaught of the Muslim hackers has slowed for a while. Luckily there are
people out there working just as hard to keep them out as they are working
to hack sites. It is not that they are out there picking on our little site,
they just want to deface all the sites they can. And they are not all
Muslims, but all the sites I had hacked were by Muslums, likely young men
exersizing their computer skills.
Anyway, look for the new face of the website soon, and keep up the good work
out there.
I know I doesn't seem like I am here all the time, but I am. Just have a
lot of work going on. Still travelling a lot, building IHOP and Chili's
restaurants, pretty much just in Texas lately.
Watch for restoration of the website and the addition of some new features
again. And cross your fingers that I can keep it online this time.
Thanks,
Edward

Subject: [LAGENWEB] New Colonial Louisiana Project
I would like to take this opportunity to announce the revival of the
Colonial Louisiana Project. This Project was created and administered by
Peggy Hall from around 1997 to her death in 2002. Since that time it has
been overlooked.
As a DIRECT descendant of a "Pelican Girl" (Gabrielle Savory), I thought
this was a tragedy! With the permission of the LAGenWeb SC, we have made
Colonial Louisiana a permanent home on the LAGenWeb.
The site is being temporarily housed on my freepages site until Rootsweb
issues web space. Please feel free to link to it and send any contributions
or links from 1682 until your statehood.
The site has been dedicated to Peggy Hall in recognition of her many years
of hard work.
There are still a few bugs in the page so please report any broken links you
find.
