BYUTV has several good genealogy programs. I think this was one of them I watched last
night (Mon). It was about a women trying to find her Jewish ancestors. She visited the
Ellis Island research center, went to where they lived in a Jewish housing (slum) district
where she could actually hold one foot on the center of the floor and reach from one side
of the room to the other. I would have not been able to live like they did with all the
smoke, disease, etc. It was 1901. My living room is bigger than the entire apartment
their whole family lived in!
BYUTV also has several other gen programs on Tuesday nights. Questions & Ancestry (or
something like that -- I don't remember names of programs!) is put on by
Ancestry.com
and they have professional genealogist answering questions about how to do reseach.
(Desmond Allen?) from Arkansas was a recent guest. At least it was an Arkansas person.
