Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
John Prime (Caddo, Bossier) checking in.

--- Jo (Castleberry) Branch
Ok, as everyone on the list should know, I announced some time ago that I
would soon call for and election for the state coordinator position.
At that time I had decided to resign when a new person took over. After
making that announcement I got really busy at work and just did not feel I
had time to even conduct the election properly so I have been stalling.
That particular project is now over and I have some of my time back so I am
ready to approach the subject again.
I have decided that I don't necessarily want to leave the position as I do
enjoy it most of the time, but I also feel that I should still call for an
election since we have never had one.
So, I REALLY will call for an election very soon, and while I will not mount
a massive campaign to keep the position, I will be in the running. This
will still give the group a chance to elect new leadership if you want.
Unless someone has a better way, I think using the USGenWeb election
committee to run the election is the best way, they do the work and it is a
third party so it will remain a fair election without question. I believe
they are pretty well prepared to go into action as soon as I tell them we
want an election handled.
I invite any comments from the group on this matter.
Thanks,
Edward Hayden
LAGenweb Project State Coordinator
Everyone:
Ok, it is time for another update on the membership list for the LAGenWeb
Project Coordinator list.
I think I got everything pretty well squared away the last time, but this
will serve as a check on that.
