I remembered them all, and I couldn't figure out what Bobby was talking
about. But I didn't dare contradict <g>.
8th Grade: I remember all 64. We learned them kind of in sing-song fashion
so I have to start at the beginning to remember one in particular! Thank
you, Ms. McKay for teaching us the parishes!

Oh, well, when I was in the 8th grade we had to learn all the parishes and
the correct spelling.
As soon as I finished that test, I forgot most of them.
This project has helped my memory a BUNCH, but I still couldn't remember
all of them..
I can remember sitting there in that school room trying to remember all of
them.
Our teacher died just recently and when my mother told me about his death,
that is what
I remembered.

For all of us that went to school in Louisiana should have known there wasn't
a Chickasaw parish <grin> at least those of us that can remember we had to
memorize all 64 parishes and where they were in our history classes (they
didn't call it social studies then) I am just glad I didn't live in a state
like George with 117??? or ever how many they had (lol)
Annette
PS: I caught it but had to look to make sure it wasn't one of the "defunt"
parishes <grin>
Bobby
i thought it was just a confused person from
miss on the wrong page.... however never
say that our legislature is not capable of
making a parish whenever they have the feeling
that is best for the citizens to do so
keep up the good work

I've heard of a Chickasaw county in Mississippi, but that is a new one on me.
Are you trying to see how many of us are awake <grin> or did the legislature
divide a parish while I was eating supper?
