Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Folks,
USGW-CC-L is not a Rootsweb list; its on 'Rootsquest'...they use
the majordomo system to manage subscriptions.
To subscribe to USGW-CC-L:
send email to
majordomo(a)rootsquest.com
leave the subject empty; in the body of the email, you must write-
'subscribe usgw-cc-l'
for digest, its-
'subscribe usgw-cc-l digest'
Once subsribed, all posts go to:
USGW-CC-L(a)rootsquest.com

Hi,
Yes, I am the parish coordinator for Livingston Parish in Louisiana. I did get
an invitation to join. I appreciate your help.

It is a closed list. Did you get a message from the listowner, inviting
you to subscribe?
I assume that you are a county coordinator for USGenWeb, which is the only
requirement. A state coordinator or state archivist cannot sign up,
unless they are county coordinators.
I'll try to help you. Maybe he hasn't gotten around to all the CCs yet.
I got on the list yesterday, first I had heard about it, and then things
got hot and heavy!

I have tried to subscribe to this mailing list several times and keep
getting an error message. I did turn off my signature line when I sent it.
Can someone help please?

Subject: New USGW-CC-L email list
Hello, a special announcement to all county coordinators of The USGenWeb
Project.
This message is to inform you of a new email list, USGW-CC-L, for use
by
all county coordinators eligible to vote in the USGW elections. The list
is
a closed list that is restricted to USGW county coordinators. While
there
are several lists available for USGW members there have been none
dedicated
and restricted to the use of the county coordinators on a national
basis.
The 1900 plus county coordinators comprise the productive element of the
USGW project and as such need, and are entitled to, their own list to
communicate with one another, to share ideas, express opinions and to be
kept abreast of the happenings within the organization. This list has
been
established for that purpose.
The USGW-CC-L will be a list for the discussion of the USGW project in
all
of its manifestations and for informing county coordinators of
happenings
within the organization. The purpose of this list is to share knowledge
with
other list members. Ideally this will include advise, suggestions and
solutions offered to those posting queries. Hopefully, members of the
list
will support each other in their county endeavors, offer each other new
ideas, methods and approaches, and enhance each others' efforts to
provide
free online information. Membership is composed of the county
coordinators
within USGW who are eligible to vote.
We have endeavored to send every county coordinator a copy of this
invitation, if you are aware of any coordinator that did not receive
this
message, please inform us so we can correct the over site. If you
received
more than one message please forgive us our mistake.
To join, send a message to <Majordomo(a)rootsquest.com> and in the message
body type subscribe USGW-CC-L. If you desire the digest mode type
subscribe
USGW-CC-L-DIGEST. If you use a signature file, please be sure it is
turned
off prior to sending your message.
Because this is to be a closed list, each request must be checked
against a
list of qualified persons. To prevent delay it is best that you
subscribe
using the same email address to which this message was addressed.
We look forward to your participation and wish you the best with your
own
county pages. Hopefully this list will be a useful to you in developing
and
maintaining your web sites as well as keeping you abreast of the various
happenings within the organization.
