Where did you find that John Lefforge (LaForge) if Hunterdon Co, New
Jersey was the son of Isaac? That has eluded all of us. I know that
Patty Onek has been to Hunterdon and done extensive research as well as
hiring a professional genealogist all to no avail.
I am also a descendant of John Lefforge and Mary Smith. They were my 3rd
gr grandparents. Their son William and his 3rd wife, ELiza Morrow, were
my gr gr grandparents.
I am very excited that you have been able to prove what has stumped the
rest of us. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. This is the
best way I can think of to start the new year.
P.S. Don't be concerned. Our computer will say 1999 until Jan 1st of
next year. We don't know if our software is y2k compatible and couldn't
get a hold of the makers. We are still running Windows 3.1 and don't
plan on changing.

Hi J. David,
Sorry, I haven't responded sooner. Unfortunately, I don't have any
information on these people, so I'm doubly glad that Virginia could shed
some light on your questions. I'm a Lawrence only by marriage, and my
husband's family is Polish (the name originally being spelled Lorenc).

Subject: [LAFORGE] Lefurgy - Lawrence families
Happy New Year to one and all of my distant cousins, I'm
J.David Clark of Prince Edward Island, Canada and my
Canadian ancestor, John Lefurgy (LaForgee) was a "Loyalist"
from the Phillipseburg Manor in Westchester County, N.Y. John
was a descendant of Adriaen de La Forge of Long Island an
early settler to New Amsterdam, his family originating from the
plateau area, near Lyon, France.
I have my direct line to Lyon, France, as far as I'm concerned,
completed, however, there are a multitude of extended family
member I would like to include in my tree.
I am anxious to share my information with anyone intrested and I
look for the same in return. I would like to start with questions
to Amie Lawrence as follows.
Sarah S. Lawrence married George Lefurgy, Chauncy, N.Y. and
had a family of 5 children. Thats all the information I have on this
couple and I would like to know more on their families.
I also have a Lemuel Lawrence married to Sarah Lefurgy, also
no further particulars.
Last but not least, I have Rebecca Lawrence, daughter of Thomas,
married to Martin Lefurgy, 1767-1839, children, Isaac, Jane, Elizabeth,
Charity, Patience and Margaret. I need marriage confirmation and
relevent family details, if possible.
Thanking all for any conciderations, kundest regards, J. David.
