Edward E. Carter, Sr.
Edward E. "Sonny" Carter, 74, of Pollock, died Sunday, December 27, 1998,
in LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.
He was a member of Sims Wesleyan Church and retired from self-employment in
the upholstery business.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, in Pollock United
Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Mark Roberts, Dennis Fontenot and David
Henry officiating.
Interment followed in Pollock Cemetery under direction of Rush Funeral Home
of Pineville.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie Wiles Carter of Pollock; two sons,
Edward Earl Carter, Jr. and Roger Dale Carter, both of Pollock; three
daughters, Joann Carter, Tessie Holden and Connie Carter Peck, all of
Pollock; five brothers, James Carter, Melvin Carter and William Carter, all
of Pollock, Robert Carter of Monroe and J. P. Carter of Columbia; two
sisters, Louise Ray of Pineville and Mary Lou Blachshear of Alexandria; 16
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
