1999 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday,

Funeral services for Terry Lee Barton of Marthaville, 22, were held
in Beulah Methodist Church, at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, March 31. The Rev.
Clarence Berley officiated. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
Mr. Barton died in Converse on Sunday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m., after
an extended illness.
Surviving relatives include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barton of
Marthaville; two brothers, Gene Barton of Houma, and Roy Barton of

Mrs. Alice B. Colley, 55, of Shreveport, died at 4:40 p.m., Feb 8,
at Highland Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Colley was a native of Marthaville and had lived in Shreveport
30 years. She was a member of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Colley was a saleslady at Selber Brothers.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Feb. 10, at the Rose-Neath
Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Edgar Dufresne, associated pastor
of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating, and the Rev.
Homer V. Bailes, pastor of the Marthaville Methodist Church,
assisting. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Colie C. Colley, and four brothers,
Otis L. Barnhill, Charles Barnhill, all of Many, and Virgil Barnhill
of Marthaville.
Pallbearers were Larry Roberts, Raymond Barnhill, Norman E. Crager,

Mrs. Faye Cook, 54, of Robeline, died in Natchitoches, April 6,
after an extended illness.
Surviving relatives include her husband, John Cook of Robeline, two
daughters, Mrs. Needham Tidwell of Many, and Miss Nancy Jane Cook of
Robeline; four brothers, Emmett Powell of Robeline, Walter Powell of
Florien, Floyd Powell of Mansfield, and Allison Powell of Coushatta;

Natchitoches; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held in the Robeline First Baptist Church

Mrs. Larie Elders
Mrs. Larie Elders, 52, of 130 Stadiam Ave., Hueytown, Ala., who died
Jan. 28, was a native of Pleasant Hill. She was the daughter of Mrs.
Amos Davis Ponder, a resident of Hueytown for 14 years. She was a
graduate of Northwestern State College, was associated with
Natchitoches Parish welfare Dept., and taught Pleasant Hill High
School. Mrs. Elders was a member of North Highlands Baptist Church
and was employed by the Department of Pensions and Security.
Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in Brown's
Funeral Home in Bessemer, Ala.
Survivors include her husband, Garland P. Elders, a son; Tommy
Elders, a daughter; Garland Ann Elders, her mother; Mrs. Ida Ponder
of Pleasant Hill, a sister; Mrs. S. W. Cappell of Alexandria, and a
brother; I. M. Davis, Jr. of Mills, Wyo.

Mrs. Freeman died after a short illness on Feb. 17 at 7 a.m., in
Robeline.
Funeral services were on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. in Hockory
Grove Congregational Methodist Church, with the Rev. W. L. Birdwell
and the Rev. J. D. McNeal officiating. Burial was in Shamrock Cemetery

Newton L. Holland died in his home at Vowells Mill at the age of 76,
on Feb. 17, following a short illness.
He is survived by his son, Woodrow Holland of Vowells Mill; two
daughters, Mrs. Gladys Foshee of Vowells Mill, and Gracie Foshee of
Oakdale; four brothers, John, Ivy, and Freeborn Holland, all of
Vowells Mill, and George Holland of Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Exie
Foshee from Provincal, and Mrs. Emma Polk of Bellwood, Necie and
Bessie Foshee, both of Vowells Mill; 13 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in New Cedron Baptist Church on Thursday,
Feb. 19 at 2:30 p.m. Officiating was the Rev. Billy Nosler. Burial

Mr. Roland Lilley
Mr. Roland Lilley, 63, of Alto, Texas died Tuesday, July 6, 1999 in
Carthage, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 9 at Calvary
Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church with interment following at Old
Palestine Cemetery in Alto. The Rev. James Littlefield and the Rev.
Thomas Wainwright officiated.
Mr. Lilley was born Oct. 30, 1935 in Marthaville, to William and
Ruth Graves Lilley. He lived in Alto for 30 years and was a member,
a deacon and church treasurer of the Calvary Tabernacle United
Pentecostal Church. Mr. Lilley had lived in Houston for many years
where he was a member of the Pipefitters Local #211. He also worked
as a rancher.
Survivors include his widow, Mattie "Mickie" Lilley of Alto, Texas;
daughters, Karen Ann Bass of Porter, Texas; three brothers, Waple
Lilley of Natchitoches, Harold Gene Lilley of Robeline and Nollon
Lilley of Pleasant Hill.

Lee Jewell Weeks
Lee Jewell Weeks, 58, of Robeline, died in the Veterans Hospital in
Shreveport, Feb. 23, after and extended illness.
Survivors include his mother, Lettie Weeks of Robeline, three
brothers, Leonard, and Lonnie Weeks, both of Robeline, and Charlie
Weeks of Provencal; and sister Mrs. Mertie Kizer of Midland, Tex.
Funeral services were held at Rocky Mount Methodist Church, Feb 25,
with the Rev. Marvin Free, and the Rev. Foster Jennies officiating.
Burial was in the Rocky Mount Cemetery under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
