Charlie Floyd, Walters Farmer, Buried Dec. 2
Funeral services were held for Mr. Charlie Floyd, 52 years of age, of
Walters, La., in the Pine Grove Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. Mr.
Floyd died Wednesday, Dec. 1 in a Ferriday hospital. Pneumonia was given as
the cause of death.
Rev. McDaniel of Jena conducted the funeral services.
The deceased is survived by his widow, one son, Chester Floyd, two
daughters, Mrs. Aline Thompson and Mrs. Janie Thompson, all of Walters;
four sisters, Mrs. Martha Bass, Wallace Ridge, La., Mrs. Sallie Weems, Ft.
Necessity, La., Mrs. Ed Chevallier, Walters, and Mrs. Francis Hemphill,
Winnfield, La., and three brothers, Ulis Floyd, Jena, Dave Floyd, Pineville
and C. Floyd, Baton Rouge, La.
Mr. Floyd was a lifelong resident of Walters and was a member of the
Baptist Church there.
Kinner & Stevens were in charge of funeral arrangements.
