Hello everyone,
I'm new to the list, so will give a little background of my interest in
Louisiana genealogy and history.
Absalom Autrey, b. 1802 N.C., married Elizabeth Norris in Perry Co., Al.
They moved into La. and into what is now Dubach, Lincoln Parish, La. in
1848, but their home, which is now The Autrey House Museum and is fully
restored for future generations. They brought with them their 14 children
who were born in Al. and then had their last child in Lincoln Parish.
Absalom's son, Robert Martin Autrey, moved to Bowie County, Texas and had
two families. The first family consisted of his first wife, Elizabeth Jane
Kemp, his children, Elbert Eugene, Columbia, Edd Will and "Pink" Cisero.
After the death of his first wife, Robert Martin married again and had more
children.
My Louisiana interest is connections of families to the Autrey family of
Dubach, La. I have researching this family as time permits since 1982. I
am still searching for them as Absalom and Elizabeth had 15 children and 107
grandchildren, so my search continues.
