Word comes to the Guardian Journal that Mrs. Maddry, a Mother in Isreal,
a Nongenarian, within a few months of 95 years old, died at her home in
Flat Lick Community west of Homer a few days ago. She was the oldest
woman if not the oldest white person in the parish. The Maddry family
is well known in the western part of this parish, descend from the
deceased and her consort who preceded her to the grave some years ago.
Thus, one by one, go hence the sturdy pioneers from whom in a large
measure, sprang the generation now composing the Anglo-Saxon peoples
that constitute the proletariat of the greatest government on earth.
