Lucien C. Bertrand, Jr., District Judge, Fifteenth Judicial District,
Division "D", was elected November, 1966 for a term ending December,
1972.
Judge Bertrand was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on January 7, 1922,
the son of Lucien C. Bertrand, Sr., and Mary Runte, both deceased. He
graduated from Cathedral High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, received
his B.A. Degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and his
LL.B. degree from Tulane University. He was a member of the Tulane Law
Review and served on the Moot Court Board; he was a member of Phi Delta
Phi fraternity.
The Judge was admitted to the bar in December of 1948 and practiced in
Lafayette, Louisiana, for seventeen years.
Judge Bertrand married the former Dorothy Howe on April 14, 1945, and
they
are the parents of six children: Mary, Daniel, Donald, Russell, William,
and Christopher. They have one grandchild.
The Judge served four years with the Naval Air Corps, and was
commissioned
U.S. Naval Aviator during that time.
Judge Bertrand lists fishing and hunting as his hobbies.
