Robert Martin Fleming, Judge, Sixteenth Judicial District, Division
"D", was elected on November 5, 1968, for a term of four years.
Judge Fleming was born on August 23, 1925, at St. Martinville, Lou-
isiana. He is the son of Patrick H. Fleming, deceased, and Ruth Martin
Fleming.
He graduated from St. Martin High School in 1942, Southwestern Lou-
isiana Institute in 1946, and received his LL.B. degree from Tulane
University in 1948.
The Judge is married to Better Angers Fleming, and they are the parents
of three children: Deborah, Patrick, and Paul.
Judge Fleming was a pilot and a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps in
World War II. He is a past president of St. Martinville and Franklin
Rotary Clubs; was president of the Iberia Parish Board of Supervisors
of Elections, and was a member of the Democratic State Central Committee
of Iberia Parish.
Judge Fleming lists his hobbies as hunting, water sports, tennis and
golf.
