Leonard Greenburg was appointed on January 31, 1966 to serve as Judge
of Division "A" of the Seventeenth Judicial District, comprising Terre-
bonne and Lafourche Parishes. He was elected on November 8, 1966 to
the same position, and his term ends December, 1972.
Judge Greenburg was born in Schenectady, New York, on September 3, 1911,
and his parents are Michael Greenburg and Annie Shapiro Greenburg.
He is married to the former Alice D. Daspit of Baton Rouge, La., and
they have two children -- Justin Michael and Douglas Henry Greenburg.
Judge Greenburg attended high school in St. Petersburg, Florida. He
received his A.B. and LL. B. degrees from Tulane University, New
Orleans,
Louisiana. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He has taught French at
Tulane University (1935), and was Research ASsistant and Special
Lecturer
in the L.S.U. Law School (1935 - 1940).
Judge Greenburg is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana
Bar
Association, American Red Cross, National Conference of Christians and
Jews,
and Y.M.B.A. of Lafourche Parish.
During the war he served as Special Agent, Federal Bureau of
Investigation,
1940-1945.
His hobbies are fishing and cooking.
