Vernon Jake Francis
Vernon Eldrige "Jake" Francis, 77, of McLewis Community near Orange, Texas,
died Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
He was a native of Olla and a former resident of Alexandria and had lived
in the Orange, Texas area for the past 47 years.
He was a member of the Old First baptist Church in Orange, a retired
accountant with Entex and a U.S. Army veteran having served during World
War II.
Services were held at 2 p.m., July 2, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange
with Rev. Barry Bradley officiating.
Burial followed in Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery under direction of Claybar
Funeral Home of Orange.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Annie Francis of the McLewis Community;
two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Cook of Georgetown, Texas and Patricia Lynn
Fruge of Beaumont; a sister, Jean Wheat of Bogaluso; one brother, Jack
Francis of Olla; and four grandchildren.
