Dear Webmaster,
I am the DeSoto Parish Archive Coordinator for the USGENWEB
archive project. My goal is to make the Desoto archive page a MUST SEE
page for all
Desoto Parish researchers! I want to add some new records to the
archives.
I would like to make a list of individuals with land records in DeSoto
Parish from the information listed in your website.
I would like to make sure that it is okay to post this information and
that
it does not infringe upon anyones copyright. My understanding on the
matter, since it is a matter of public record and under public domain -
government information cannot be copyrighted. Correct?
Please contact me if it would be okay to post the information mentioned
above in the archives. However, if it is copyrighted somehow. We
cannot use anything that is still under copy right with out the permission
of the one who holds it. The following notice would appear on the
posting. "USGenWeb
NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format
for profit or presentation by any other organization or persons. Persons
or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written
consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter,
and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent.
Files may be printed or copied for personal use only." The copyright
remains with the submitter.
Thank you,
