Bernie [Bermie] S. Lashley
Services for Bermie S. Lashley were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in
Mars Hill Baptist Church, near Verda, with the Revs. Glen Griffin,
Kenneth Tarver and Mike Howell officiating. Burial was in the church
cemetery under direction of Southern, Winnfield.
Mrs. Lashley, 80, of Winnfield died Tuesday, January 20, 1987, in Humana
Hospital, Winnfield.
She worked as a nurse's aide at Humana Hospital from 1962 to 1978. She
was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church, Winnfield.
Survivors include three sons, Sonny Lashley of Atlanta, James H. Lashley
of Shreveport and Walter Lashley of Pueblo, Coloroda [Colorada]; two
daughters, Mrs. Willie Jean Snead of Pineville and Mrs. Moeice Jones of
Winnfield; two brothers Albert Shows of Atlanta and Julius Shows of
Pineville; one sister, Bertie Lee Deen of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren.
