Last Rites for Rev. H.T. Young at Mt. Carmel - funeral rites for the Rev.
Henry T. Young, 69, were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Carmel Baptist
church with the Rev. Louis Hoffpauir of Ruston officiating. Warren Funeral
Home of Many was in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Young died at his home near Florien Sunday after a long illness. He
had been a pastor and evangelist for the past 42 years having served in
churches in Texas, Mississipi, Arkansas and Louisiana. Bad health caused
him
to retire several years ago.
He is survived by his widow, five sons, Wilson of Sao Paulo, Brazil,
Harold
of Farmerville, Hubert of Terrell, Tx. William of Monroe, and David
Young
of
Florien; a daughter Mrs. Paul Todd of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother
Ernest
Young of Jonesville,; three sisters, Mrs. Oscar Bartlett of Shreveport,
Mrs.
Minnie Caraway and Mrs. Laura Hotard, both of Jonesville and 13
grandchildren.
(Note: Rev. Henry Thomas Young was born March 20, 1880 at Enterprise,
La.,
the son of Henry Thomas (Tom) Young and Elizabeth Peyton Cornwell.
He died
December 18, 1949 at Mt. Carmel, La. He was married to Jessie Young on
January 27, 1904 in Catahoula Parish, La. - she was the daughter of William
Young and Martha Elizabeth Hughes)

Many - Mrs. Jessie Young, 92, of Mt. Carmel, La. died Friday in an
Albuquerque, N.M., hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Mount Carmel Baptist
Church with the Rev. Earl Marr officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
Survivors include four sons, William W. Young of Bastrop, Jessie Hubert
Young of Florida, Henry Wilson Young of Brazil and David Young of Mount
Carmel; one daughter, Mrs. James Paul Todd of Albuquerque; one sister, Mrs.
J.
S. Chennault of Jonesville; a number of grandchildren and great-
grandchildrenf.
