I am sorry, Duane, but the LADATA list is strictly for posting data intended
for submission the the US GenWeb Archives for Louisiana, not for the posting
of queries. You might try the Orleans Parish GenWeb site
http://www.rootsweb.com/~laorlean/ . Some parish sites do post queries.

Subject: [LADATA] Spelmann (Spielmann) family of New Orleans
Philip Spelmann (Spielmann ?), a native of Bavaria, is 44 on the
1870 census and living in the 13th Ward of New Orleans (Orleans Parish?).
Children are listed with him but no wife. I believe the family was
Catholic. Later census data says Philip was from Strasbourg, France, as
was his wife.
I am seeking any information about the family, including date of
arrival of Philip in the US, parish church and local cemetery records for
information regarding dates of birth of children, dates of death of
Philip and of his wife.
