Short Wave Radio Amateurs Ordered To Stop Operation
Three Rigs In Winnfield Silenced By QST Message
A WST message Sunday night from the American Radio Relay League,
Ins., ordered all communication between amateur short wave radio
operators in the United States stopped. The message stated that rigs
should not be dismantled, but should be kept in shape for use by local
authorities in the event telephone and telegraph connections are
disabled.
Three rigs in Winnfield have been silenced by the message. They
are operated by G. S. Ham, W5JTH; Doc Burnett, W5JJT: and Frank Gill,
W5ITS.
(NOTE: Doc Burnett was David C. Burnett, and he is buried at
Friendship Cemetery, near Sikes.)
