Last Rites Held For Mrs. E. J. Scott Tuesday
Mrs. E. J. Scott, 85 years, seven months and five days of age, died
at the home of her son W. C. Turner, on the Winnfield-Natchitoches
highway, Sunday evening following a two weeks illness.
Funeral services were held at the Turner residence Tuesday with
Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian pastor, in charge. Interment was in the
Winnfield cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers were Charlie Cole, Charlie Smith, Elby
Crooks, Lee Grigsby, Maston Wood and Lee Dunn.
Mrs. Scott, a member of the Christian Church, was a native of
Dallas, Texas, and had been residing here with her son for a number
of years.
Surviving are one son, W. C. Turner of Winnfield; nine
grandchildren, and three brothers, Virgil, George and John Gore all
of Texas.
