Mr. H.J. Lenoir left Sunday for a short visit to Magnolia, Miss.
Miss Audrey Murff is spending the holidays with relatives at Haughton.
Miss Maggie Belle Kountz, of Victoria, LA is the guest of Mrs. J.P.
Creswell.
Congressman H.W. Ogden is spending the Christmas holidays with his
friends at home.
Mrs. J.T. Manry spent Saturday and Sunday in Benton, as the guest of her
sister, Mrs. E.A. Gryder.
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Abney of Hayti, are spending the holidays at Fillmore
with Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Hickman.
Mrs. J.A.W. Lowry and Mrs. Pattie Cade spent Saturday and Sunday in
Shreveport as the guests of Mrs. N.C. Blanchard.
Misses Lila Thompson and Jennie Lee Martin, pupils of Shreveport High
School, are enjoying the holidays at their homes.
Misses Sallie and Dollie McDade and Messrs. J.W. Prince, Jr. and Andrew
McDade of Haughton neighborhood, visited the Atlanta Fair last week.
Caucasian: On Thursday, December 19, Mr. Joe Dambly, of Shreveport, the
popular photographer and pleasant gentleman, and Miss Alice Dudley, a
lovely and accomplished young lady of Monroe, were married by Rev. Dr.
Bowen.
Mr. T.E. Wilson and Miss Lucy Lockey were married on the 15th instant by
the Rev. T.H. Carter at the residence of the bride's father, Dr. G.W.
Lockey near Ivan. The Banner wishes the estimable and happy couple long
life and prosperity.
Judge John D. Watkins died at his home in Minden on the 19th instant.
He was an old citizen of Louisiana, one of the best known lawyers of the
State, and took a prominent part in public affairs until about 10 years
ago. Judge Watkins was a profound student, a learned and able lawyer, a
man of pure character. The whole State mourns his death.
