Hi - I am hoping someone will have a suggestion. I just read the
obit of an ancestor who died in New Orleans in 1878. It said he
was buried "with Masonic honors" Is there a Mason source that
might have info about him? (Of course, his obit did not say where
he was buried, but then, wouldn't that just be too ducky?)

J. W. Stewart, 71 years old, a farmer of Haughton, died Thursday
night after an illness of five days. Death was due to inflluenza. The
funeral services were held at Haughton, Friday afternoon, conducted by
the Rev. W. L. Stevens of First Baptist church of Haughton. Interment
was in Fillmore cemetery. Stewart is survived by his widow; a son,
Claude, of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. G. W. Vaughan and Mrs.
Oliver Walker of Haughton and Mrs. Hugh Baker of Couchwood.
