<< Hi Robert,
The given name of 'Jemima' is found in several generations so it may be
the same line that we are researching. 'Catherine' was also the name of
another sister of Mary and Jemima.
IGI records show a 'Jamimah Laboyteaux' born in 1813 in Hamilton Co. OH,
who may be (picture wild arm-waving ;-) the daughter of Peter P.
Laboyteaux and Julia Packer, brother of my Mary who married William Van

Terri: Please re-check the IGI records for the above Jamimah Laboyeaux. I
think the 1813 date indicates the date of the will of her father Peter
Laboyteaux (spouse of Keziah Sebring). There was a period when people could
submit records to the IGI using will records. Check the microfiche version
of the IGI in the "TYPE" column, I believe it says "W" which means
Then in the "EVENT DATE" column, it gives 05 AUG 1813 for Abiah, Dorety,
Jacob, Jamimah, John, Joseph, Katherine, Mary, Peter and Phebe, which is the
date Peter Laboyteaux, Senior wrote his will. [Incidentally, I have a copy
of the will and there is no child named Jacob listed in it!] I do not show a
child named Jemima for Peter P., son of Peter and Keziah. Please let me know
if you have documentation for such a child.
Note to Robert Runyan: I believe Jemima Laboyteaux married John Runyan in
Somerset Co., NJ although both of them are buried in Hamilton Co., OH. How
is your ancestor James related to John and Noah Runyan?
