Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
HOLLON, Bertie Joyce age 75, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Hawthorn Glen Senior Living Campus where she had resided for 13 years. She was born November 8, 1938 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. She was employed on Main B Floor at Middletown Regional Hospital, retiring in 1983. Bertie enjoyed drawing and sewing in her spare time. Preceding her in death were her parents, Fred and Myrtle (King) Wireman; her husband, Woodford Hollon in 2002; one son, David Hollon; and two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by two sons, Bradley Scott Hollon and Tony Wayne (Joy) Hollon; seven grandchildren, John (Tiffany) Hollon, Staci Hollon, Rachael Julin, Dustin (Tracy) Pence, Zach (Toni) Lawver, Dan (Sammi) Lawver and Kristin Lawver; two great grandchildren, Kloie and Ethan; two brothers, John (Rose) Wireman and Ova (Mary) Wireman; two sisters, JoAnn (Fred) Spencer and Betty Faye (Jesse) Banks; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 12:00 noon with Pastor James Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. XENIA — Osa Clay Taulbee, age 85 of Xenia, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was born in Wolf County, Kentucky to the late Sewell and Ora (Agee) Taulbee. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Cleo (Schoffer) Taulbee; daughter, Janice Taulbee Collier and sisters, Gladys Hargis and Marie Peyton. He is survived by his grandchildren, Michael (Sherri) Collier Jr., James (Jennifer) Collier Sr., Joshua Collier; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jodi, James "A.J." Jr., Jayden and Dominick Collier; step – great-granddaughter, Cieara Eneix; siblings, Denzile Taulbee, Shirley Patrick, Larry Taulbee and numerous nieces and nephews. Osa served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He married the love of his life Cleo on December 24, 1953. After working at NCR for 25, he retired and went on to work for Frigidaire and then was with WBZI for 6 years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. with Pastor Joe Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday, April 10. Logan's sister, Fern, lives about a mile from me on what was her father's
farm in Madison Twp., Butler County, Ohio
Logan Pence, Jr., 80, of Benton, KY, passed away at 10:16PM Tuesday,
March 25, 2014 at Lake Way Nursing Home in Benton, KY. Logan was born in
Wolfe County, KY in 1933, son to the late Logan, Sr. and Lula Pence, and
the youngest of 11 children.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, sisters Beulah Spencer,
Flossie Rose, Virgie King and Cova Barnett and two brothers Fred and
Logan is survived by his son Brent Pence and his wife Vicki of PA and his
daughters Kim Ceolin and her husband Peter of Ontario, Canada and Denise
LaFlamme of MI;step-children Lisa Stevens-Wells and Randy Jones both of
Benton, KY; brother Ova Pence of NJ and sisters Patty Rhea McCray and
Fern Drury both of Middletown, OH and Jean Barker of Franklin, OH; and
several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
After moving to Middletown, Ohio, Logan began his work career at Aeronca,
Inc. where he assembled aircraft parts, including those for an Apollo
spacecraft. After retiring in 1991, he moved to Kentucky Lake to pursue
his passion for fishing. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sports.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Sunday, March 30, 2014 at
Filbeck-Cann & KingFuneral Home. Burial will follow in the New Harmony
Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00AM Sunday, March 30, 2014 at
Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
