Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
James Buchanan Hollon (1857-1942) is my second great grandfather.

Included are the original scans of each photograph, and a restored version
after edits through Adobe Photoshop.
Two of the photograph are tin types. While small, they actually scan very
well. The tin types pick up significant damage over time. I spent HOURS
restoring each of these.

George Washington Hollon (1840-1923) married Orpha Rebecca Baker
(1842-1937). George is a son of John Hollon Jr. and Polly Hollon.

side of the photograph had to be manually reconstructed, as it is missing.

Laura Ethel Hollon (1889-1977) is the daughter of James Buchanan Hollon and
Caroline Hollon. Laura is my great grand aunt. She married Oliver Raymond

The second image show her with her father, James Buchanan Hollon. It was
presumably taken on her wedding day, which was circa 1915. Take special
note of the photobomber in the window!

Ollie Hagins (born 1895) is the great granddaughter of John Hollon Jr. and
Polly Gibbs. Ollie is my second cousin twice removed.

The photograph was taken when she was round the age of two, which would be
circa 1897. Included there is a scan of the original photograph, as well as
a version of the image after some restoration through Adobe Photoshop. The
original image is in very good shape, but there is a blurry aspect to it.

SPENCER, Floyd Gene 73, of Campton, Ky., father of Jackie Bame, departed this life on Sunday, August 18, 2013. He was a son of the late Earlie Ray and Mamie G. Coomer Spencer born at Campton, Ky. on August 12, 1940. Floyd was a member of the F & AM Lodge #159 in Camden, Oh. He is survived by one daughter, Jackie Bame (LeRoy) of Middletown, Oh.; three grandchildren, Sara Spencer, D.J. Lilly III and Dalton Powell all of Middletown, Oh.; three brothers, Jerry S. Spencer of Beattyville, Ky., Arthur Spencer of Middletown, Oh., and Curt Spencer of Campton, Ky. and two sisters, Lois W. Prows of Campton, Ky. and Betty Halsey of Pine Ridge, Ky. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Omer V. Spencer, James Spencer and Troy Spencer and one sister, Loubertia Pike. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Porter & Son Funeral Directors in Campton, Ky. Burial will be in the Spencer Cemetery in Campton, Ky. BREWER, Bobbie Gene age 73, of Hillsboro, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Atrium Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1940 in Lansaw, Kentucky, the son of Dorsie Brewer and Norma (Taylor) Brewer. Bobbie was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed auto mechanic and was a member of the Samantha Friends Church, Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joy Elaine Brandenburg Brewer; two daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Hendricks of Bellingham, Washington, Lora Dowd of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Randy (Julie) Brewer of Bellingham, Washington, Tony Brewer of Phoenix, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Wyvonia (Philip) Perrin of Springboro, Phyllis (Al) Dawson of Franklin; two brothers, Bill (Donna) Brewer and Mark (Jocelyn) Brewer both of Franklin; one stepdaughter, Leslie (Anthony) Watson of Jamestown, TN; and two stepsons, Ryan (Rachel) Smith of Nashville, TN, Joshua Smith of Olympia, Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Thursday at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Woodside Cemetery. LAKE, Emma Jean age 72, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at her home. She was born May 13, 1941 in Campton, KY to Stephen and Beulah (Carroll) Alexander. She worked at Aeronca and Water Refining. She organized the making of lap afghans to be passed out at various nursing homes for Christmas gifts for over 20 years. She is preceded in death by her parents. Emma is survived by her husband, Forest "Gary" Lake of 46 years; daughter, Tammy (Danny) Greene; brother, Steve Alexander; sister, Pam Pfeiffer; grandchildren, Nicholas McIntosh, Mindy (Chip) Webb, Jacob (Melissa)Runnells; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Madelynn, Maleigha, Jaxson. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 2-5:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Testas officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. Hello Patti. Thank you ever so very kindly. I now have another stone to roll over. It is always so wonderful to learn about my family. So Jeremiah Brewer (1852-1913) was 1st married to Louisa Lawson (1844-about 1905), and 2nd to Elizabeth Pratt. All seven children born with Louisa? If he married Eliz in 1908 he would have been 56 already. Do I have the number of children correct?
