Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
BARNETT, Orpha M. 92, of Middletown, died Thursday, October 25, 2012, at her residence. She was born in Wolfe County, Kentucky on December 17, 1919 to parents Walter H. Sr. and Pearl F. (O'Hair) Sparks. Orpha worked as a legal secretary for Kitchen, Singer & Roland for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was an active member of Eastview Baptist Church and was also active in the community. Mrs. Barnett is survived by her brother, Charles Edward Sparks; and numerous nieces, nephews, family & friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Barnett in 1973; parents; and brother, Walter H. Sparks Jr. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Dwaine Tilford and James Porter officiating. DRAKE, Danny Ray May 2, 1955 to Oct. 2012 Danny died unexpectedly Sunday, he is survived by his daughter Sara Drake, and his Mother, Cora Drake, sister Theresa Drake and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other close friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Curt Drake and his younger sister Tamela Drake Canupp. Arrangement for his funeral will be this Saturday, October 20th from 11am to 1pm at Greenhills Baptist Church and the funeral will follow immediately. DAVIS, "Watkins" Lillian Age 82 of Dayton (formally of West Liberty Ky) was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday October 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents Kie and Gracie Watkins, Brothers John, Kermit, and Leland Watkins, sisters Malcolm Tong and Nila Mae Trent. She is survived by her husband Sonny Ed Davis, children Pauletta Ferris , Katie (Ed) Miller, Steven (Robin) Creech, Tony (Sally) Creech, Scott (Karen) Creech, three step children, Rickey and Jimmy Davis, and Gail Davis-Clawson. Eleven wonderful grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and, four great great grandchildren. Her sister Gusteen (Clarence) Byrd and brother Vernon (Jean) Watkins, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. A special thanks to Kandy, and Hospice of the Miami Valley for their exceptional care during her illness. She attended Moraine City First Church of God for many years, worked at Wright State University where she retired in 1985. She never seen a stranger, would welcome you into her home for a delicious home cooked meal, laughter and a good time. The family will receive friends and family at Newcomer Funeral Home 4104 Needmore Rd. Wednesday October 17th from 5-8pm . The services a will be held Thursday October 18th 10:00am at the funeral home, with Pastor Russell Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

HATTON, Dorothy age 84, passed away at home in Franklin, Ohio on October 11, 2012. She was born February 4, 1928 in Wolfe Co. Kentucky to the late Henry and Eva Spencer. Dorothy retired from Franklin City Schools as a cook. Her two passions in life were her grandchildren and her flowers. She is survived by her daughters Diann Wilhoit and Teresa (Byron) Hauser and her two grandsons Spencer Matthews and Samuel Hauser. She was preceded in death by husband Jake, grandson Joshua Tibbs, and beloved son-in-law Earl Wilhoit III. Dorothy's visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 12pm-1pm at the Ivey Funeral Home at Rose Hill Burial Park 2565 Princeton Rd Fairfield Twp. Ohio with funeral services to follow at 1pm. COX, Irene Nickel 95, passed away Sat Oct 13 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County after a short illness. Born 03/01/1917 in Wolfe County Kentucky to Carl Lee Nickel and Etta Gibbs Nickel. Retired in 1980 from GM Inland Division. Past member of Franklin Christian Church. Married Denzil E Cox 12/19/1940. Preceded in death by husband, parents, step-father Carmie Brewer, brothers Kenneth and Denzil Brewer, brothers -in-law Coy B Childress, Larry Walker Sr, and son-in-law William E(Willie) Willis. Survived by daughter Lynette Willis of Carlisle and daughter and son-in-law Brenda Cox Jones and Larry Jones of Springboro, sisters Carlee Childress of Sharonville, Bonnie Dunn(Roland), Janice Taulbee(Jack) of Wolfe County, and Genell Walker of Martinsburg, WV, and aunt and sister in-law Marie Gibbs Cox of Mason and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene was an avid gardener and raised a large garden well into her 80's and always had a green thumb with flowers. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Homes (Franklin). Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. COMBS, Will Henry "H" 86, of Middletown, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Atrium Medical Center. He was born November 16, 1925 in Wolfe County, KY to William and Mary (Barnett) Combs. He was a steel worker for A/K Steel starting in 1945, retiring in 1987. He married Ival Caudill on May 14, 1948. Will attended Breiel Blvd. Church of God. Will loved his family, long-time neighbors, friends, the Smoky Mountains, history and music. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Mary and six wonderful brothers and sisters, Isaac and wife Lillian Combs, Frederick Combs, Ruby Wells and husband John, Beulah Chandler and husband Robert, Evelyn Propps and husband Ervin, Eula Miller and husband Richard. Will is survived by his wife, Ival Combs of 64 years; three daughters, Patricia Gilkey (husband Stan) of Bixby, OK, Mary Pamela of Springboro, OH, Penny Baker of Copley, OH (husband Michael); grandchildren, Adam Sanders of Cincinnati (wife Katie), Jason Gilkey of Cincinnati (wife Katie), Eric Gilkey of Cincinnati, Stacy Krause of West Chester (husband John). A visitation will be held Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home.
