He was a teacher and basketball coach at Estill County High School during
the years I attended in the early 1950's. I do have the possible data of his
parents in my records as Floyd Brewer & Margaret Brown. Could his father
be Asa Floyd Brown..
Rodney Brewer, 70, Lexington, husband of Armeda Mays Brewer, died of an
apparent heart attack Tuesday, August 26, 1997, at this residence. A native of
Wolfe Count. He was the son of the late Asa Floyd Brewer and Margaret
Brown Brewer. He was a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church. He retired in
1984 after serving 17 years as an assistant principal at Tates Creek High
School. He was a teacher, administrator and coach for nine years. He holds
the winningest record to date at Estill County High School. Mr. Brewer was
also a World War II and Korean War Veteran.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; Rodney
Lynn and Peggy Brewer, Richmond,, and Jeff and Barbara Brewer, Jessamine
County; one daughter and son-in-law: Denese and David Mabe, Lexington; two
grandchildren: Natalie and Britton; a step-granddaughter: Tamie Parsons; and
one sister: Blanche Tipton, Irvine. He was preceded in death by a sister
and two brothers.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kerr Brothers Funeral
Home by Rev. John T. Thompson. Entombment was in Bluegrass Memorial
Local visitation was at Lewis Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28.

STONE, Roberta Robbie (Davidson) age 80 of Dayton, passed away Sunday,
August 8, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. Robbie was born April 26, 1930 in
Hazel Green, KY to the late Samuel and Luna Davidson. She left after her
high school graduation to come to Dayton where she met her loving
husband of 59 years, Robert "Bob" Stone. She has been a faithful member
of Moraine City First Church of God since moving to Dayton. She was
preceded in death by her siblings: Alvis Miller, Juanita Brewer, Ovie
Brewer, Wilton Davidson, Ruby Creech, Dorland Davidson, Kenneth Davidson
and RD Davidson. Robbie is survived by her husband, Bob Stone of
Kettering, Dawn Melodye (Thomas) Dover of North Royalton, two
grandchildren: J. Nicole Dover and Matthew Dover, two brothers:
La-Vaughn (Nancy) Davidson and Cordell (Shirley) Williams, as well as a
host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the TOBIAS
FUNERAL HOME- BELMONT Chapel 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver on Wednesday,
August 11, 2010 at 11 AM with Brother Glen Sizemore officiating. Friends
may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service on
Wednesday morning. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of

WITHROW, Dorothy Frances (Blankenship) Age 85, of Somerville died
Sunday, August 8, 2010. She was born June 6, 1925 in Hamilton, Ohio the
daughter of Elva and Cora (Day) Blankenship. She was a graduate of Ross
High School. She married Merle J. Withrow on March 19, 1949 in Liberty,
Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was employed by
Champion International at Knightsbridge as a key punch operator in the
shipping-scheduling department retiring in 1998. Dorothy was a member of
the First Baptist Church where she was past Sunday School Superintendant
and Sunday School Teacher. Dorothy loved her family and all living
things and was a devoted wife and mother. She shared her home and barn
with numerous horses, dogs and cats over the years. She played the
piano, dulcimer, and was part of the First Baptist Church Bell Choir.
She loved music of all genres She loved to draw and paint especially
animals and she collected antiques with her husband, Merle. Dorothy is
survived by two sons, Scott A. Withrow and wife Beverly of Hamilton and
Merle J. Withrow and wife Rosanne of Amarillo, TX; a daughter, Jene' D.
Withrow Krall and husband Jim of Oxford, OH.; two sisters, Lorraine
Collier and husband Rex and Geraldine Conrad and husband Bud all of
Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Tina, Tara, Brandan, Amanda, Mara, Andrew,
Noah, Frances and Michael; four Great Grandchildren, Beverly and Sheldi
Withrow, Jack Baker and Emma Rose. She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband, Merle; sons, Kimberly Dean Withrow in 2007 and Jay
Withrow in 1951. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 12, 2010 at
1:30 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH
with Pastor Dennis Metzger and Pastor William Brantingham officiating.
Burial will be in Somerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from
12:30 until time of service. The family wishes to express their sincere
appreciation to the staff and doctors at Woodland Country Manor for

COMBS, Lizzie (Bailey) Age 86, went home to be with the Lord on August 4,
2010. Lizzie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dorsie; and by
their son, Ray Combs. She was a faithful member of Dryden Road Pentecostal
Church. She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Margie (Vint)
Adams, Betty (Ace) Abner and Tonya (Jerry) Richmond; four grandchildren,
Theresa (Chris) Lewis, Lisa (Don) Moore, Melissa Adams & Luke Richmond; five
great grandchildren; and by her beloved pastors Bennie & Jane Sutherland.

PATTON, Vurlin Dwight Dick age 63 of Miamisburg, passed away on Monday,
August 2, 2010 at the VA Hospital. He was preceded in death by his
mother Vera Patton, father Vernon Patton, brother Alvis Patton and
sister Myrna Hensley. He is survived by his daughter Georgie Roush of
Germany; 3 grandchildren; sisters Sharon Azbill and Beverly Tester both
of Miamisburg; cousin Joann Haddix of Campton, KY who cared for him for
over 40 years; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives
and friends. Dick served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam
War on the front lines in the 25th Infantry. Graveside services will be

WINCHESTER - Joe Graham, 73, of Clark Co, husband of Nancy Cooney
Graham, passed away on Mon, Aug. 2, 2010 at the St. Joseph Hospital. Mr.
Graham was born in Wolfe Co. on Sep 1, 1936 to the late George Thomas
and Josie Lee Hollon Graham. He was the owner of Furniture World, Stereo
Warehouse, and a farmer. He attended the Ephesus Baptist Church and
served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his wife, he survived by
three sons, Joe (B.J.) Graham Jr, Brian (Jennifer) Graham, and Tom
(Simmie) Graham all of Clark Co; a daughter, Sandy (Vernon) Watts of
Clark Co; thirteen grandchildren, Matthew Graham, Patrick Graham, Joshua
Watts, Taylor Graham, Caitlin Graham, Isaac Graham, Sarah Graham, Maggie
Graham, Katie Graham, Laura Graham, Ben Graham, Jennifer Graham, and
Jessica Graham; two brothers, Alvin Graham and Tom Graham; three
sisters, Elsie Miller, Ruby Elkins Linkous, and Ruth Cross. He was
preceded in death by four brothers, Hollon, Fonzie, Ford, and Ed Graham
and two sisters, Belle Lockard and Nora Hollon. Funeral services will be
