Opal Irene Lewis, 92, widow of Otha Lewis, passed away Friday, May 21 at
Bluegrass Care & Rehab, Lexington. She was born January 8, 1918 in
Rogers, Kentucky to the late Myles Preston and Hattie Spencer Bryant.
She was a retired store clerk and a member of the Rogers Baptist Church.
Survivors include: Daughter, Susan Lewis Smith, Winchester and
Grandchild, Kristin Voskuhl. She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband, Brother, Robert Bryant, and Sisters, Mable Johnson and Nora
Johnson. Services Monday, May 24, 1:00PM Rogers Baptist Church.
Visitation Sunday 6-9pm Wells Funeral Home, Stanton. Burial in Rogers

Ruth Curtis, age 74, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at
Greene Oaks Care Center in Xenia. She was born April 3, 1936, in
Campton, KY, the daughter of Raymond Stanley and Cora Lee (Campbell)
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 sisters: Naomi Napier
and Helen Taulbee.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Curtis, whom she married June
9, 1956; 4 sons: Michael (Tyhese) Curtis of Wilmington; Thomas A.
(Katrina) Curtis of TN; Stephen E. and James D. Curtis, both of Xenia; 4
grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Edwin (Georgetta)
Taulbee; Omer Taulbee and Frank (Ann) Taulbee, all of KY; as well as
numerous other relatives and friends.
She attended Southside Church of God where she and her husband enjoyed
singing. She also enjoyed gardening. Her boys kept her very busy while
they were young and she was very involved in their school and church
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at
Southside Church of God, Lake St., Xenia, with Rev. Joe Sweet
officiating. Interment to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of
service at the church. Services are in care of McColaugh Funeral Home

Lloyd "Hoppy" Campbell, 65, of 114 Magnolia St., husband of Patsy
Pergram Campbell, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday at the St. Joseph Hospital in
A native of Wolfe County, he was the son of the late Chester and Ada
Banks Campbell. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Ralph
Banks Full Gospel Ministries.
Other survivors include two sons, Anthony Campbell of Bardstown and
Jonathan Christopher of Berry; three daughters, Rita Martin of Bath
County and Lisa Willoughby and Ashley Christopher, both of Winchester;
four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and
sisters-in-law, David and Jackie Campbell of Winchester and Donnie and
Peggy Campbell of Georgetown, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and
an uncle and aunt, Leonard and Maxine Banks of Clay City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ralph Banks Full Gospel
Ministries by the Rev. Ralph Banks. Burial will be in the West Bend
Pallbearers will be Bo Campbell, Jo Campbell, Ben Rankin, Cecil
Willoughby, Junior Stamper and Larry Campbell.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Lloyd Campbell family.

ALLEN, Dorothy Jean 76 of Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully into
the arms of her Lord after an extended illness surrounded by her loving
family on, Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born
in Campton, Kentucky on January 5, 1934 the daughter of Esau and Mae
(Branson) Spencer. Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She
was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She took great pride in her
flower garden and working on the family genealogy she also loved
antiques. She looked forward to her multiple daily phone conversations
with her sister Faye. Jean had continued a lifelong friendship with best
friend Sharon (Shelton) Friend. Jean is survived by her three daughters
Cathy (Patrick) Combs, Karen (Kevin) Feltner and Misti Allen; three
grandchildren David Combs, Amanda Feltner and Allison Feltner; two
sisters, Mary Cox and Faye (John) Deaton. Jean was preceded in death by
her parents Esau and Mae (Branson) Spencer; her husband Guy Allen; two
grandchildren Laura Combs and Rick Combs; sisters, Emma Townsend, Beulah
Brewer; brothers, Elmer Spencer, Trulen Spencer and Joseph Spencer;
mother-in-law, Crystal (Bandy) Allen and father--in-law, Bernard Allen.
Words will never express just how deeply we appreciate the wonderful
care and dedication to our mother given by Dr. Mary Ellen Gaeke and Kim
Smith RN. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 10:30am

Robert James Miller, 80, of Winchester, husband of Faye Back Miller,
passed away Sunday at Clark Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Wolfe County to the late Kenneth Ray
Miller and Goldia Lydiser Myers.
He was a retired service repairman, United States Navy veteran and a
member of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law,
Barry R. (Jane) Miller of Mount Sterling; two grandchildren, Angie
(Andy) Nock and Elsie Hoffman; five great-grandchildren; three nieces
and nephews; and a host of cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Gary Brown and
the Rev. Paul Hollingsworth at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery in Campton.
Pallbearers will be Andy Nock, Nicholas Nock, Joe Oldfield, Richard
Oldfield, Bill Holder and Harold Triplett.
